Job Description

Salary: $180,000 - 225,000 per year Requirements:

  • A Technical (Military/Trade School) diploma or Associate degree with one year of experience related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical or mechanical operations experience.
  • At least one year of experience working with computer components and operating systems.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with mission-critical low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Preferred: Experience in a Data Center or mission-critical environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field is desirable.
  • International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher certification is preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of network design, low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling, and industrial controls systems, including troubleshooting of analog, discrete, and networked input/output signals.
Responsibilities:
  • Primarily work in the field at Data Center locations and support multiple sites under Deployment and/or Service.
  • Conduct point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
  • Perform initial diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation related to the Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) in data centers.
  • Manage network configurations and communication testing between third-party devices and controllers or servers.
  • Configure and calibrate sensors.
  • Read and comprehend electrical schematics and control panel drawings, demonstrating a basic understanding of closed-loop controls and field sensor scaling.
  • Oversee low voltage electrical contractors responsible for wiring and the installation of field devices.
  • Provide support for commissioning and system-level testing.
  • Produce red-lined drawings and recommendations based on fieldwork and confirm the accuracy of as-built drawings.
  • Participate in root cause analysis during testing and commissioning.
  • Ensure that all personnel on-site adhere to proper safety protocols.
  • Be available for on-call duties and a rotating schedule when necessary and respond to after-hours emergencies.
  • Engage in basic support tasks such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization.
