Job Summary

Utilize carpentry skills and knowledge to construct interior and exterior walls and roof systems according to engineer drawings and specifications.

Job Functions

• Interpret engineer drawings and specifications to accurately construct interior and exterior walls and roof systems.
• Measure and cut materials to precise dimensions for framing components.
• Install structural elements including headers, beams, and joists to support overall framework.
• Assist with the installation of interior and exterior components once framing is complete.
• Mount interior walls securely in place, ensuring proper alignment and attachment to the frame.
• Support the installation of exterior siding, panels, and trim, following design specifications.
• Work closely with team members to coordinate projects and ensure efficient workflow.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and hours worked

Education, Experience And Competencies

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
• Proficiency in basic framing carpentry techniques and tools.
• Ability to interpret and follow engineer drawings for framing and construction.
• Experience in framing interior and exterior walls, roof systems, and structural components.
• Knowledge of lumber types, sizes, and grades commonly used in framing applications.
• Understanding of framing principles and best practices for structural integrity and safety.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in measuring, cutting, and assembling framing components.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for collaborating with others.
• Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment
• Trade school education or certification in carpentry preferred.
